Mr Anatoly Rubinov
Born in 1939 in Mogilev.
In 1961 Mr Rubinov graduated from the Belarusian State University.
He began his professional career in the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic where he worked for more than 40 years. He rose from post-graduate student to Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Physics of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus. He exercised the functions of the academician-secretary of the Physics, Mathematics and Informatics Section of the Academy of Sciences of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic.
In 1965 he defended Candidate’s Thesis, in 1972 — Doctor’s Thesis.
In 1991 he was elected an Academician of the Academy of Sciences of Belarus.
Mr Rubinov is the author of more than 300 scientific works, 4 monographs and 65 inventions. Some original laser devices that got diplomas and medals of the Exhibition of National Economy Achievements and won the Gold Medal of the International Leipzig Fair were constructed under the supervision of Mr Rubinov.
He prepared more than 30 Candidates and Doctors of Sciences.
From 2002 till 2006 he headed the Supreme Commission for Academic Degrees and Titles of the Republic of Belarus.
From 2006 till 2008 he was First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Republic of Belarus.
On 31 October 2008 elected the Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 4th convocation.
Deputy Chairman of the Council for Cooperation of Local Self-Government Bodies at the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus.
Chairman of the State Prizes Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
He has a honourary title “Merited Scientist of the Byelorussian SSR” (1980). He was awarded the State Prize of the USSR (1972) and the State Prize of the Republic of Belarus (1994).
Mr Rubinov was awarded the Order of Francisc Skorina. |
