Mr Boris Batura
Born in 1947 in Volkovysk, Grodno Province.
In 1970 Mr Batura graduated from the Belarusian Polytechnical Institute.
He commenced foreman in 1970 and worked as industrial engineer and acting Head of the Technical Control Section in the structure of the Department of Internal Affairs of Grodno Province Executive Committee.
From 1973 till 1979 he was Director of Volkovysk Group of Public Utility Enterprises of the Municipal Economy Department of Grodno Province Executive Committee.
In the 1979 — 1983 period he was Deputy Head, Head of Mechanics and Power Engineering Section, Deputy Head of the Housing and Communal Service Department of Grodno Province Executive Committee. From February 1983 till April 1984 he was the First Deputy Head of the Production Section of Grodno Province Housing and Communal Services Department, from April 1984 till August 1987 — Head of the Production Section of the Housing and Communal Services at Grodno Province Executive Committee.
In the 1987—1990 period he was Deputy Minister of Housing and Utilities of the Byelorussian Soviet Socialist Republic, deputy Chairman of Grodno Executive Committee.
From July 1990 till June 1999 he was Minister of Housing and Communal Services of the Republic of Belarus.
In 1999 he was appointed a Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
From November 2000 — Chairman of Mogilev Province Executive Committee.
He was elected member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 2nd and 3rd convocations.
On 31 October 2008 he was elected Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus of the 4th convocation.
Mr Boris Batura is awarded an Order of Honour, a 3rd Class Order of Motherland, a 2nd Class Order of Motherland, a Jubilee Medal “90 Years of Belarus Army”, a Certificate of Honour of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and a Certificate of Honour of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus, an Order of Kiril of Turov, a honourary title “Merited Worker of the Services Industry of the Republic of Belarus”. |
