Presidium of the Council of the RepublicTo organize the work of the Council of the Republic, pre-consider and prepare issues relating to its competence, the Presidium of the Council of the Republic is established (Presidium of the Council of the Republic of the 4th convocation).
The Presidium of the Council of the Republic is a permanently operating body of the Council of the Republic.
The Presidium of the Council of the Republic comprises the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic (head of the Presidium), his/her deputy and the chairpersons of the Standing Committees.
The Presidium of the Council of the Republic has functions as follows:
• organize session preparation;
• draft the agenda of chamber sessions;
• inform the members of the Council of the Republic of the provisional agenda of the session;
• exercise control over preparation and submission to the members of the Council of the Republic of bills, requisite documents and materials;
• take measures to ensure attendance of members of the Council of the Republic at the plenary meetings of the sessions;
• coordinate the work of Standing Committees and other bodies of the Council of the Republic;
• inform members of the Council of the Republic about sittings of the Presidium;
• submit, if necessary, proposals on creation, reorganization or dissolution of standing and ad hoc committees of the Council of the Republic;
• exercise control over timely consideration and implementation by public institutions and officials of proposals and remarks introduced by members of the Council of the Republic at its sessions, and take measures to respond to inquiries submitted by deputies of the House of Representatives and members of the Council of the Republic
• hear activity reports of the Chief of Secretariat.
• perform other functions provided for by the Rules of Procedure. |
