Gennady Novitsky spoke at the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of CIS meeting

On February 10, 2006 the Chairman of the Belarus National Assembly Council of the Republic Mr. Gennady Novitsky participated in the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States meeting that took place in Kiev.

In his speech dealing with legal guarantees of the indusrial accidents prevention and social protection of people who were affected by the Chernobyl disaster, Mr. Novitsky set forth the policy of Belarus in eliminating the aftermath of the natural and industrial disasters on its territory. He stressed particularly that in our country a special attention is attached to ecology in general and to improvement of living conditions in the contaminated regions.  
        During the visit Mr. Novitsky met with the Chairman of the Supreme Rada of the Ukraine Mr. Vladimir Lytvyn and the Vice-Chairman of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Mr. Valeh Feiruz ogly Aleskerov. During the meetings the issues of bilateral cooperation development were discussed.
