The 30th session of the Belarus-Russia Union Parliamentary Assembly has completed its workOn June 22, 2006 the 30th jubilee session of the Belarus-Russia Union Parliamentary Assembly which was held in Polotsk and Novopolotsk completed its work. 
The Chairman of the Council of the Republic Mr. Gennady Novitsky and the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security Mr. Nikolai Cherginets took part in the work of the Council of the Belarus-Russia Union Parliamentary Assembly which took place in the course of the session. The Council members approved the Union State Council of Ministers’ report on the implementation of the organization’s budget for 2004.
At the plenary meeting of the session the participants heard a statement of the Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Mr. Boris Gryzlov who is currently Chairman of the Union State Parliamentary Assembly. Mr. Gryzlov said that the establishment on April 2, 1996 of a Belarus-Russia Community was a historic event that brought the process of unification of two brotherly nations to a new level of integration. It symbolized sanctity of the age-long brotherhood and the strife of the two peoples to live together.
The Union parliamentarians approved the new Parliamentary Assembly Rules as well as the Procedure of forming and implementing the Union budget. |
