Chairman of the Council of the Republic met with the Ambassador of IndiaOn February 6, 2006 the Chairman of the Belarus National Assembly Council of the Republic Mr. Gennady Novitsky met with His Excellency, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of India in the Republic of Belarus Radjendra Kumar Tyagi. Present at the meeting also was Mr. Nikolai Cherginets,  Chairperson of the National Assembly Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security and Mr. Anatoli Novikov, Chairperson of the National Assembly Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Social Matters, Leader of the National Assembly Group on Cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of India. 
During the meeting the parties discussed the issues of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic and humanitarian spheres. Mr. Gennady Novitsky stated that the identity of the positions of our countries on the international arena ensures the high level of partnership between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of India.
Radjendra Kumar Tyagi passed the invitation from the leadership of the Indian Parliament to pay an official visit to India. He expressed confidence that this visit will attach new impetus to the development of belorussian-indian relations.
