Members of the Council of the Republic participated in the 2nd Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum 
Mr. Nikolai Cherginets, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security, and Mr. Stepan Pisarevich, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Economy, Budget and Finances, took part in the 2nd Belarusian-Lithuanian Economic Forum which was held in Soligorsk on 19 – 20 June, 2006.
The workshop discussions held during the Forum were dedicated to policy coordination of Belarusian and Lithuanian companies in the field of production and sales of light industry goods, build-up of Belarusian petrochemical and construction product exports to Lithuania, implementation of joint investment projects and expansion of bilateral regional cooperation.
