Nikolai Cherginets has met with the Charge d’Affaires of the Republic of Lithuania On 27 December 2006, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security Mr. Nikolai Cherginets met with Mr. Marus Yanukonis, Charge d’Affaires a.i. of the Republic of Lithuania in the Republic of Belarus upon his request.
During the meeting the parties discussed the status of the Belarusian-Lithuanian relations in the political, economic and humanitarian fields. Nikolai Cherginets suggested that the Lithuanian side consider the possibility of implementing a number of projects in the sphere of research.
The parties were confident that there is a considerable potential for cooperation based on the common historical and cultural traditions and acknowledged the reciprocal need for its enhanced fulfillment.
