Nikolai Cherginets has met with the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria On 28 December 2006, the Chairman of the National Assembly Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security  Nikolai Cherginets met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria in the Republic of Belarus  Petko Dimitrov Ganchev.
During the meeting the parties discussed Belarus-Bulgaria interaction in the field of science and culture, in particular, in the framework of the NGO Association of Belarusian Writers and similar organizations in Bulgaria. P.D.Ganchev came up with an idea of launching a Slav Encyclopedia, which was supported by Nikolai Cherginets.
The parties also focused on the strengthening of Belarus-Bulgaria inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Ambassador of Bulgaria pledged his assistance iin organizing reciprocal parliamentary visits.
