Gennady Novitsky receives Armenian Ambassador to the Republic of Belarus February 5, 2007, Mr. Gennady Novitsky, Chairman Council of the Republic National Assembly of the Republic  of Belarus, received Mr. Oleg Esayan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to the Republic of Belarus, at his request. Mr. Nikolai Cherginets, Chairman Standing Committee for Foreign Affairs and National Security, and Mr. Anatoly  Novikov, Chairman Standing Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Matters, Deputy Co-Chairman Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus with the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, also took part in the meeting.
Mr. Gennady Novitsky made the point that Belarus-Armenia trade-economic cooperation is rapidly evolving. In addition, he accentuated the fact that the trade turnover between our countries has increased tenfold since 2000. Furthermore, Mr. Gennady Novitsky expressed sincere gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Armenia for the constant support rendered to Belarus within the framework of international organizations. 
The Armenian Ambassador marked the results of the socio-economic development of the Republic of Belarus very high and stated that the Government of the Republic of Armenia overwhelmingly supports the economic reforms and the foreign policy course carried out by Belarus. He also said that the potential for the bilateral trade-economic cooperation is far from being effectively fulfilled. Mr. Oleg Esayan laid emphasis on the spheres of science, innovative technologies, medicine etc. as promising avenues for the bilateral cooperation.
