Sitting of the Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place March 27, 2007 the first sitting of the Inter-parliamentary Committee on Cooperation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the  Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine took place. Aleksandr Abramovich, deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Stepan Pisarevich, Chairman Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Economy, Budget and Finances, and Aleksandr Yakobson, member of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Policy and Local Self-Government, partook in the meeting.
Special emphasis was laid on the inter-regional cooperation of Belarus and Ukraine. Following the results of the discussion the avenues for its further development were outlined.
The participants of the sitting adopted the Rules of the Inter-parliamentary Committee, set up a number of working groups on specific spheres of activity and approved of the list of the issues due to be discussed at the sittings of the Inter-parliamentary Committee in 2007.
Next sitting of the Inter-parliamentary Committee is planned to be held in September 2007, in Kiev.
