Gennady Novitsky met with Chairman landtag of federal land of Brandenburg, Germany March 28, 2007 Gennady Novitsky, Chairman Council of the Republic National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, met with Gunter Fritsch, Chairman landtag of federal land of Brandenburg, the Federal Republic of Germany.  Mr. Novitsky said during the meeting that the current visit will be conductive to further enhancement of bilateral relations of the Republic of Belarus and the federal state of Brandenburg in political, economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres. In particular the parties discussed the avenues for the creation of an inter-parliamentary committee on cooperation of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the landtag of the federal land of Brandenburg which will enable the bilateral ties to be filled with new content in terms of information and experience exchange. In his turn Mr. Fritsch expressed gratitude for the warm reception and voiced his support for Belarusian parliamentarians’ striving towards establishing closer contacts which are set to contribute to the prosperity of two nations. In return Gennady Novitsky thanked the German party for rendering assistance in helping children who suffered from the consequences of Chernobyl catastrophe to recover. In additionally, the parties tackled the issues concerning the ratification of military graves agreements and avenues for cooperation in agricultural, educational and scientific spheres.
