Born 2 April 1958 in Kharkovka Village, Chausy Region, Mogilev Province.
Graduated from Mogilev Machine-Building Institute (Mechanical Engineer); Belarusian State Economic University (Economy and Management); Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus (State Administration).
After finishing Mogilev Polytechnical School commenced as a Car Mechanic at Bogushevsk Transfarming Construction Organization. Served in the Soviet Army. Worked as a Foreman of Cabin and Fin Assembling and Welding Section of Mogilev Car Works; a Car Mechanic, Road Foreman, Road Maintenance Depot No 37 (Kostuykovichi); a Senior Engineer — Deputy Head of Section for Mechanization, Electrification and Maintenance Supply of Kostykovichi Region Agroindustrial Association; an Engineer of the Operating Section of the Freight Department, “MogilevOblAvtoTrans” (transportation enterprise); the Deputy Director for Capital Construction — Director of an autopark under construction; the Director of Autopark No 8 (Kostyukovichi); the Director of the Belarusian Cement Factory.
