Born 27 May 1959 in Roski-Selets Village, Orsha Region, Vitebsk Province.
Graduated from Vitebsk State Medical Institute; completed clinical training and postgraduate studies, graduated in Pedagogics and Psychology at Vitebsk State Medical University; graduated in Economy at Belarusian State University; has a Master of Economics degree.
Doctor of Medicine, professor. Merited Scientist of the Republic of Belarus. Author of more than 350 scientific works including 17 monographs and training guides, 8 inventions. Honourary Academician of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
Worked as a Deputy Secretary, the Secretary of Vitebsk State Medical Institute Young Communist League Committee. An Assistant, a Docent, a Professor of the Hospital Surgery Chair, a Professor of the Surgery Chair of the Advanced Training Department of Vitebsk State Medical University, the Head of the Republican Scientific and Practical Centre “Infection in Surgery”, the Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University, a Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus.
Chairman of Vitebsk Province Executive Committee.
A member of the Council of the Republic of the 3rd convocation from 15 November 2004 till 27 December 2005.
Has an Honourable Mention of the President of the Republic of Belarus. Awarded a medal “For Labour Valour”, 6 jubilee medals, a gold medal of Albert Schweitzer, a badge “Healthcare Expert of the Republic of Belarus”, a Certificate of Honour of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, a Certificate of Honour of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Belarus.
