Senators in Session

On April 3, 2006 the fourth session of the Republic of Belarus National Assembly Council of the Republic began its work.

Opening the first sitting, the Vice-Speaker of the House Mr. Aleksandr Abramovich said that the plans for the session are quite solid and that they are in line with the priorities set by the 3rd Belarusian National Congress. The parliamentarians will have to consider about 40 bills and a number of decrees submitted by the President of the Republic of Belarus.
        During the sitting the senators decided on the recognition of credentials of the new members of the Council of the Republic Mr. I. Avin, Mr. V. Drazhin and Mrs. L. Postoyalko who had been appointed by the Head of the State in 2005.
        The Council of the Republic also adopted resolutions “On the Statement of the Republic of Belarus National Assembly issued in connection with the death of Slobodan Milosevic, former President of the Union Republic of Yugoslavia” and “On the Statement of the Republic of Belarus National Assembly issued in connection with the stand of certain states and international organizations in regard to the elections of the President of the Republic of Belarus”.
