Nikolai Cherginets met with Bogdan Pascu, Chairman of the CEI Parliamentary Dimension General Committee on Economic Affairs

       12 April, 2007 Mr. Nikolai Cherginets, Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for International Affairs and National Security, met with Mr. Bogdan Pascu, Head of the Romanian delegation to the Central European Initiative Parliamentary Dimension (CEI PD) Chairman of the CEI PD General Committee on Economic Affairs. Mr. Boris Khrustalev, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic Standing Committee for Education, Science, Culture and Humanitarian Matters and Mr.Anatoly Pavlovich, Chairman of the House of Representatives Standing Committee for Industry, Fuel and Energy Complex, Transport, Communication and Businesses, Deputy Chairman of the Republic of Belarus National Assembly Delegation to the CEI PD. also participated in the meeting.
       Preparation of the CEI PD General Committee on Economic Affairs sitting, planned for June in Minsk, was discussed at the meeting. Besides, the prospects for Belarus-Romania interaction in trade and economy, transport, tourism, combating organized crime and human trafficking were also considered.
       Mr. Nikolai Cherginets informed his Romanian colleague about the main social-economic achievements of the Republic of Belarus. Mr. Bogdan Pascu introduced to the participants of the meeting the Romanian experience in attracting foreign direct investments to the national economy.
       In conclusion Mr.Boris Khrustalev put forward an initiative to establish a European Integration University to educate the highly qualified personnel in the sphere of energy safety (power engineers, economic engineers).
