Nikolai Cherginets meets with Lord Cecil Parkinson

       On 10 March 2008 Nikolai Cherginets, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus for Foreign Affairs and National Security, met with the Hon Lord Cecil Edward Parkinson, member of the House of Lords of the Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland. During the meeting Nikolai Cherginets told the members of the British delegation about the Parliament of the Republic of Belarus, its formation procedures, its composition, mandate, and legislative activities. In his turn Lord Parkinson talked on the distictions of the British Parliament. The parties discussed the issues concerning bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres and answered the questions of the journalists.

       Natalya Baranova, member of the the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Foreign Affairs and National Security, and Aleksandr Mikhnevich, Abmassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Nothern Ireland, and from the British side — Patric Robertson, executive director of the PR agency “World PR”, and Paul Pheby, a financial expert, also took part in the meeting.
