Mr Anatoly Rubinov had a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary

      On 23 March 2009 a meeting of Mr Anatoly Rubinov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, and Mr Ferenz Kontra, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Hungary to the Republic of Belarus, took place in the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus. The sides discussed Belarusian-Hungarian cooperation issues.

      Mr Ferenz Kontra announced the readiness of the Hungarian side to receive the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus. The visit will take place on 30 — 31 March 2009 at the invitation of Mr Gyula Szabo, deputy of the Hungarian National Assembly, President of the Hungary-Belarus Friendship Group of the Hungarian National Group at the Inter-Parliamentary Union. The Ambassador expressed his hope that the visit would strengthen the bilateral relations in various spheres. He also noted that the creation of friendship groups in the parliaments of both states would give a significant impetus to the development of Belarusian-Hungarian interparliamentary relations.

      The Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic underlined the importance of intensification of the relations between the Belarusian and Hungarian parliaments and noted that our countries had a great interaction potential in the spheres of economy, science and culture. He informed the Ambassador of the main directions of domestic and foreign policy of our country and thanked the Hungarian side for their support of Belarus in the international arena.

      In the end of the meeting the sides confirmed their mutual interest to cooperate during the discussion of the international agenda topical issues.
