The visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus to Hungary is over On 1 April 2009 the visit of the parliamentary delegation of the Republic of Belarus headed by Mr Anatoly Rubinov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Head of the working group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation with the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary, to this country was over.
On 31 March the delegation had meetings with Mr László Mandur, First Deputy Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Hungary, Mr Gábor Hárs, Head of the Hungarian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union and the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, Mr Gyula Szabó, Head of the Hungary-Belarus parliamentary friendship group, and the members of this group.
During the meetings the Hungarian side showed interest in developing interparliamentary contacts with Belarus. In particular, Mr László Mandur underlined that the parliaments should “play their role in the convergence of Belarus and the European Union within the framework of the new “Eastern Partnership” programme”. The sides noted the necessity of bilateral humanitarian contacts development and reached an agreement on inter-parliamentary contacts intensification, closer cooperation in the sphere of legislature and local self-government bodies experience exchange and on some issues in the field of science, education and culture.
The members of the Belarusian delegation expressed gratitude for the balanced and constructive position of the Hungarian parliamentarians in respect of Belarus in international parliamentary structures. A request was made to render assistance to the Belarusian side in adoption of the Belarusian amendment to the Annex B of the Kyoto Protocol. At the end of the meeting the Hungarian parliamentarians were proposed to pay a return visit to the Republic of Belarus.
During their stay in Hungary the Belarusian parliamentarians visited the “Belarus Tractor” company and got acquainted with its experience of Belarusian tractors retailing at the Hungarian market. |
