Mr Anatoly Rubinov had a meeting with Dr. Ilja Seifert, Deputy of the German Bundestag On 3 November 2009 Mr Anatoly Rubinov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the  Republic of Belarus, had a meeting with Dr. Ilja Seifert, Deputy of the German Bundestag, on his request.
During the meeting the sides discussed the issues related to the development of Belarusian-German inter-parliamentary cooperation and the creation of barrier-free environment in the Republic of Belarus and the Federal Republic of Germany.
Dr. Ilja Seifert noted the necessity to intensify the contacts between the parliamentary working groups of the two states and invited the delegation of the working group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation with the German Parliament to visit Germany.
Mr Anatoly Rubinov supported Dr. Ilja Seifert’s initiative on intensification of contacts between the Belarusian and German parliamentarians and underlined the effectiveness of their interaction within the framework of the friendship groups.
The sides also discussed the project aimed at creating the barrier-free environment in the memorial complex “Khatyn”. Mr Anatoly Rubinov noted that in order to make the pedestrian zone of the complex suitable for disabled persons it is planned to complete its reconstruction by the end of the current year. Mr Anatoly Rubinov informed the member of the Bundestag about the recently adopted law on social protection of disabled persons in the Republic of Belarus, which provides for creation of corresponding environment for disabled persons. In addition he underlined that German experience in this sphere could be useful for the implementation of the provisions of the law.
Dr. Ilja Seifert highly appraised our country’s efforts on creating the conditions for productive social life for disabled persons and expressed his readiness for experience exchange in this sphere.
