Meeting with the delegation of the People’s Republic of China The issues of further strengthening and developing of the relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People’s Republic of China, prospects of mutually rewarding trade and economic links development and possible directions of cooperation within international organizations were discussed during the meeting of members of the Council of the Republic and deputies of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus with the delegation of the People’s Republic of China headed by Mr Xi Jinping, Vice-President of the People’s Republic of China.
The participants of the negotiations that took place in the House of Representatives were Mr Boris Batura, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Ms Nina Mazay, Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Foreign Affairs and National Security, Mr Nikolai Martynov, member of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Regional Policy and Local Self-Government, member of the working group of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on cooperation with the Parliament of the PRC, and Ms Nadezhda Yermakova, Deputy Chairperson of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic for Economy, Budget and Finances, Chairperson of the Board of the Open Joint-Stock Company “Savings Bank “Belarusbank”.
During the meeting Mr Boris Batura noted that “Belarusian parliamentarians will make every effort to ensure the implementation of all strategic agreements reached during the visit of the Vice-President of the PRC to the Republic of Belarus”. According to him the signed agreements will undoubtedly give an impetus to the Belarusian-Chinese relations. Mr Boris Batura also thanked the Chinese side for the humanitarian aid provided to the regions of Belarus affected by the Chernobyl atomic power plant catastrophe.
