Mr Boris Batura received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Belarus On 30 March 2010 Mr Boris Batura, Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, received Mr Zahari Radukov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Republic of Belarus, on his request.
The sides discussed the development of cooperation between Belarus and Bulgaria including the interaction on the parliamentary level, as well as bilateral links in trade-economic and humanitarian spheres.
Mr Boris Batura noted the active contacts between the working groups created in the parliaments of Belarus and Bulgaria in a positive way. At the same time he underlined the importance of developing the bilateral parliamentary dialogue within the framework of working groups as well as on the level of the headship of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria. He proposed to consider the possibility of signing an agreement on cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries. He also asked the Bulgarian side for sooner ratification of the Belarusian amendment to the Kyoto Protocol of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
Mr Zahari Radukov in his turn expressed readiness to facilitate the development of Belarusian-Bulgarian links in various spheres — inter-parliamentary, trade-economic, cultural and others.
During the meeting the sides exchanged opinions on the relations of the Republic of Belarus and the European Union and the possible development of dialogue between them.
